Voices of Young People
Learning Objectives
Having considered this resource you should have a better appreciation of how young people experience some common mental health disorders.
Voices of Young People
Although the mental health of children and young people is now recognized in ways it was not in the past, the voices of those living with mental health conditions are rarely heard - the absence of the voices of children and young people is a regular criticism of service development and practice across health and social care. In these vignettes, taken from Misca and Unwin's Child and Adolescent Psychology for Social Work and Allied Professions, young people describe the day-to-day realities of living with a mental health condition. Each vignette has questions which you can work through individually or as part of a group.
