Working in multi-disciplinary teams is an increasing facet of social work today. Such collaborations can work very effectively for both the service user and the professionals involved, but of course, there are also differing perspectives, which need to considered and managed.
The following case study, written by Hilary Pengelly, focuses on Alistair, a 38 year old man, with mild learning disabilities and autism. Following a spinal injury, Alistair must go into hospital, where various health and social care professionals become involved in his care.
