How will your relationship with your practice educator progress?
Learning Objectives
After considering this resource, you should understand what is expected of you in supervision by a practice educator, and how these expectations change as you progress through your course.
Supervision sessions may be a new method of learning for you when you begin your placement. As you progress from your first through to your last placement though, your relationship with your practice educator and what is expected of you in the sessions will develop and evolve. But how?
In this following video, Victoria Hart, a practice educator, talks about what she expects of her own students in supervision depending on what level of study there are at.
Reflective Questions
- How would you expect your relationship with your practice educator to develop as you progress through different placements?
- How can you take responsibility for your own learning on placement?
- How do you think you can get the most out of supervision in your first placement? Subsequent placements? Your last placement?
